Job summary

The Freeman Company in Flower Mound, TX, seeks a Director of Event Operations to lead our technical departments and department heads. This hybrid role requires 2–3 days on-site per week at our Flower Mound location and travel 25%–50% to support events.

You will oversee staffing, budgeting, safety, and vendor relations, driving process improvements and ensuring client needs are met with excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years on-site event management experience.
• 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
• 8+ years in operations across multiple areas.
• OSHA knowledge and compliance.
• Experience in recruiting and staff retention.
• Broad knowledge of Audio, Lighting, Video and Set Systems.
• Familiarity with employment laws (Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA).

Responsibilities

• Align show site and warehouse operations with leadership.
• Establish and enforce event operation policies.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment and promote continuous improvement.
• Set strategic goals for event operations and allocate resources.
• Analyze labor resources and optimize labor strategy.
• Oversee scheduling for show personnel and staffing databases.
• Develop and refine onboarding and training programs.
• Develop and manage the annual operating budget for event operations.
• Plan short- and long-term staffing aligned with forecasts.
• Monitor KPIs and report results to senior leadership.
