Job summary

The Freeman Company seeks a Technical Director to lead and implement creative concepts and strategy for clients. This role provides technical leadership, staffing, and production planning from opportunity through completion.

The position is hybrid with travel to show sites and potential work from our Dallas, Texas office or other locations. Responsibilities include leading technical teams, coordinating pre/post production, mentoring staff, and ensuring safety and SOP adherence across shows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience.
• Minimum 15 yrs experience in project management with at least 10 yrs in corporate events/special events/entertainment/theater.

Responsibilities

• Develop senior level relationships with clients to position Studio Blue as a strategic partner.
• Coordinate pre-production, onsite, and post-production activities in line with event budgets.
• Mentor and coach team members for development and growth.
• Negotiate client contracts on behalf of the sales team.
• Oversee load-in/load-out and coordination of on-site labor and resources.
• Ensure correct specification setup and optimization of event requirements.
• Direct workflow for complex event teams and produce stage scenery with multiple elements.
• Generate and maintain production books and event schedules.
