Job summary

Sundt Construction in Phoenix, AZ seeks a technical leader to guide group functions including pre-construction, design, and field operations. You will oversee in-house and contracted design services, interface with owners, and drive design progress in line with the project schedule.

Ideal candidates will have construction/engineering experience on power plants and will manage budgets, risks, and cross-functional coordination while upholding Sundt's policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required.
• Deep knowledge of creating functional strategies for renewables and developing budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
• Minimum of 5 years design or design oversight experience.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical interface with key vendors and suppliers while staying current with industry trends.
• Ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes conform to Sundt's policies and objectives.
• Incorporate components, materials, and tools that result in cost-effective and quality output.
• Involvement with scope development, technical support, system performance modeling and pre-construction pricing development; provide input on commercial risk.
• Manage and support the entire design process with pre-construction, operations, scheduling and virtual design departments.
• Plan and direct all aspects of engineering activities and projects.
• Serve as a technical interface between owners, subcontractors and in-house teams.
• Provide technical input to support project teams and operations.
