Job summary

Reworld is seeking the Director of Electrical Engineering to lead the Electrical Design Engineering team and oversee all electrical design activities for the Energy-from-Waste process across more than 30 facilities in North America.

This leadership role partners with site and regional teams, supports capital projects and feasibility studies, travels about 30%, and reports to the Vice President of Engineering, driving talent development, budgeting, and project prioritization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering/Science in Electrical Engineering.
• 15–20 years of electrical engineering experience with at least 5 years in leadership.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license and Six Sigma certification are highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Discipline/Design Engineering: manage, prioritize, and assign work across the Electrical Engineering team and SMEs.
• Capital Projects: lead electrical infrastructure design engineering for capital projects.
• Technical Programs: lead technical programs of strategic importance to the company.
• Technical Standards: develop, maintain, and improve electrical specifications and design standards library.
• Operations Support: provide engineering support to operations and technology upgrades.
• External Engineering Partners: engage and manage external firms for sound electrical designs.
• Front-End Loading (FEL): lead front-end design activities for capital projects.
• Coaching and Mentoring: mentor SMEs and train on FEL tools and best practices.
• Feasibility Studies: lead studies evaluating total cost of ownership and balancing technical and economic considerations.
