Job summary

Reworld is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead the Electrical Design Engineering team and oversee electrical design activities for Energy-from-Waste facilities across North America, covering high-, medium-, and low-voltage systems and major equipment.

Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, you will direct capital projects, mentor engineers, manage budgets, and collaborate with Plant Support Engineering, Sourcing, PMO, Operations, and regional teams to ensure safety,

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and people-management capabilities.
• Proven ability to drive electrical design across complex capital projects.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience leading diverse engineering SMEs and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Discipline/Design Engineering: manage and assign work across the Electrical Engineering team and SMEs.
• Capital Projects: lead electrical infrastructure design for capital projects.
• Technical Programs: oversee programs of strategic importance.
• Technical Standards: develop and maintain electrical specs and standards.
• Operations Support: advise on technology upgrades aligned with business needs.
• External Engineering Partners: manage outside firms to deliver sound designs.
• Front-End Loading (FEL): lead early design activities in line with FEL processes.
• Coaching and Mentoring: develop SMEs and train on FEL tools.
• Feasibility Studies: conduct studies evaluating total cost of ownership and solutions.
