Job summary

Cloudflare, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager, Data Center Operations to lead a distributed team responsible for new site builds and ongoing production operations across the United States. The role emphasizes ownership of incident response, vendor management, and DCIM-driven asset management.

You will oversee on-site engineers, coordinate with colocation partners, and drive 24x7 readiness and availability while ensuring compliance and operational excellence across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data center operations, including 3+ years directly managing on-site technical teams.
• Experience operating multi-site data center fleets at hyperscale or large-cloud scale.
• Hands-on experience with IT hardware, servers, network devices, optics and cabling.

Responsibilities

• Hire, develop and manage Data Center Engineers on-site at data centers across the US.
• Own build timelines from site readiness through hardware delivery, rack-and-stack, cabling and handoff to production.
• Run on-site decommissioning end-to-end: unracking, serial verification, chain of custody and secure destruction.
• Manage colocation providers and vendors day-to-day: escalations, remote-hands quality, power and cooling issues.
