Position Title: Director of Catering Sales

Pay Grade: G13

Reports To: General Manager

Salary: $85,000 - $100,000

Job Summary

As the Catering Sales Director, you will coordinate and oversee all internal and external catering events. You will be responsible for menu development, costing, marketing functions related to catering, labor and food cost control, event preparation, transportation, setup, operation, and cleanup. You will also handle Event Coordination and Sales Financials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hire, train, and develop managers; actively participate in developing service techniques, menu presentation, policies, and procedures.
• Create reports on operating statements and budgets; review receivables collection.
• Manage catering activities, book, plan, and direct functions.
• Prepare proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation procedures per HACCP standards.
• Maintain local client database; build and sustain vendor relationships.
• Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, financial targets, and forecasts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
• Proven success in meeting sales goals.
• Strong knowledge of current food industry trends and fine dining service points.
• 5-8 years of hospitality industry experience, including 3 years in catering sales.
• Supervisory, scheduling, training, and coaching skills.
• Ability to assess client requirements and ensure satisfaction.
• Ability to write menu proposals in consultation with chefs.
• Supervise food preparation, service, and cleanup.
• Knowledge of A/V equipment setup and breakdown for events.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategizing skills.
• Leadership, organizational skills, flexibility, attention to detail.
• Advanced computer skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proactive, calm under pressure, adaptable to change.
• High standards of integrity and ethical behavior.
• Exceptional client relations and customer service skills.
