Job summary

Vizient seeks a Category Management Director to lead strategic category initiatives, guiding stakeholders across clinicians, executives, and suppliers. You will drive end-to-end sourcing, contract development, and value analysis to deliver measurable financial and operational outcomes.

You will manage complex portfolios, mentor teams, and leverage AI insights to improve productivity, decision-making, and innovation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in category management, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to influence executive, clinical, operational and supplier stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation and contracting experience with complex supplier agreements.
• Advanced analytical skills and ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
• Deep knowledge of AI tools and responsible use in business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead comprehensive category strategies for assigned portfolios.
• Serve as the primary category expert and strategic advisor for stakeholders across sourcing, contracting and value analysis initiatives.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives including opportunity assessment, RFI/RFP execution, negotiations, and contract development.
• Build consensus among client stakeholders, suppliers, and Vizient teams to meet objectives.
• Provide mentoring and subject matter expertise to other team members.
• Represent Vizient in supplier, member, and industry engagements related to assigned categories.
• Evaluate spend, utilization, supplier performance, and market data to inform strategies and recommendations.
