Job summary

Vizient, Inc. is seeking a strategic Category Management Director to lead assigned portfolios and drive value across sourcing, contracting, and value analysis. Qualifications

• Relevant degree preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in category management, strategic sourcing, or healthcare operations.
• Proven ability to lead complex sourcing and category management initiatives.
• Strong negotiation and contracting experience with complex supplier agreements.
• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
• Excellent executive communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Experience facilitating stakeholder committees and cross-functional decision-making groups.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead comprehensive category strategies aligned with client priorities and objectives.
• Serve as the primary SME and strategic advisor for sourcing, contracting and value analysis initiatives.
• Identify category opportunities through spend, utilization and supplier performance analyses.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives: requirements, RFI/RFP, supplier evaluation, negotiations and contracts.
• Provide guidance on complex contracting strategies and stakeholder consensus.
• Lead stakeholder committees of clinicians and executives to align priorities.
• Monitor spend and market data to drive annual portfolio goals and value realization.
• Apply AI fluency to enhance category strategy development and decision-making.
