Job summary

Vizient, Inc. is seeking a Category Management Director to serve as a strategic leader and subject matter expert for assigned portfolios. You will lead category strategies, manage complex sourcing initiatives, and guide stakeholder alignment to deliver measurable value for members.

The role requires deep category expertise, market intelligence, and consultative leadership across clinicians, supply chain leaders, and suppliers. The position is hybrid with locations including Irving, TX.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in category management, strategic sourcing, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex sourcing and category management initiatives.
• Proven ability to influence executive, clinical, operational, and supplier stakeholders.
• Experience facilitating stakeholder committees or cross-functional decision-making groups.
• Strong negotiation and contracting experience with complex supplier agreements.
• Advanced analytical skills and ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
• Excellent executive communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Demonstrates knowledge of AI tools and how to apply AI in business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead category strategy development for assigned portfolios aligning with client priorities.
• Oversee end-to-end strategic sourcing and contracting initiatives with suppliers.
• Facilitate stakeholder committees and present strategies to executives.
• Manage a complex portfolio with cross-functional collaboration across teams.
