Job summary

Vizient, Inc. seeks a Category Management Director to lead strategic category portfolios, drive end-to-end sourcing, and influence executives across stakeholders. You will guide value analysis, negotiate complex terms, and mentor cross-functional teams to deliver measurable financial and operational value.

The role emphasizes AI-driven insights, collaboration with clinicians and suppliers, and a hybrid work model with three in-office days weekly at multiple U.S. locations. Travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree preferred; relevant experience valued.
• 7+ years in category management, strategic sourcing, or related field.
• Proven ability to influence executives and stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation and contracting experience with complex agreements.
• Advanced analytical skills to turn data into strategy.
• Experience applying AI tools in business decisions; evaluates AI outputs.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management.
• Healthcare, group purchasing, or regulated industry experience preferred.
• Hybrid work model with three days/week in office (Irving, Chicago, Cape Girardeau, Centennial).

Responsibilities

• Lead category strategies and drive value realization across portfolios.
• Oversee end-to-end strategic sourcing and contracting initiatives.
• Build consensus among clinicians, suppliers, and Vizient teams.
• Guide stakeholder committees and executive-level presentations.
• Mentor team members and represent Vizient in external engagements.
• Analyze spend and market data to inform strategy and savings.
