Job summary

Vizient, Inc. seeks a Category Management Director to lead strategic portfolio category strategies and cross-functional sourcing initiatives. You will act as a trusted advisor to executives, clinicians, and suppliers, guiding value-based decisions that drive financial and operational outcomes.

The role requires 7+ years in category management or related fields, strong negotiation and analytics, and comfort with AI-enabled insights. Hybrid work with Irving, TX onsite days is supported.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in category management, strategic sourcing, or related field.
• Proven ability to influence executive, clinical, operational, and supplier stakeholders.
• Experience leading complex sourcing and category management initiatives.
• Strong negotiation and contracting experience with complex supplier agreements.
• Advanced analytical skills with ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
• Excellent executive communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Demonstrates knowledge of AI tools, capabilities, outputs, and limitations and applies AI effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead comprehensive category strategies aligned with client priorities and objectives.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives including RFI/RFP, supplier evaluation, negotiations, and contract development.
• Present category strategies and outcomes to executive-level audiences.
• Mentor team members and collaborate with cross-functional teams across sourcing, analytics, and implementation.
• Apply AI fluency to enhance category strategy development and decision-making.
