Job summary

Vizient seeks a Category Management Director to lead strategy, sourcing, and value realization across assigned portfolios. You will guide negotiations, align stakeholders, and drive cross-functional teams to deliver clinical, operational, and financial value.

The role demands deep category expertise, executive communication, and ability to apply AI-driven insights responsibly. Hybrid work with three days in Irving, TX, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in category management, sourcing, or related field.
• Proven ability to influence executive, clinical, and supplier stakeholders.
• Experience facilitating stakeholder committees or cross-functional decision-making groups.
• Strong negotiation and contracting experience with complex supplier agreements.
• Advanced analytical skills translating data into strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead comprehensive category strategies for assigned portfolios.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives including RFI/RFP, negotiations, and contract development.
• Build consensus among client stakeholders, suppliers, and Vizient teams to meet objectives.
• Provide guidance on complex contracting strategies and negotiations.
• Lead stakeholder committees with clinicians, value analysis leaders, and executives.
• Present category strategies and outcomes to executive audiences.
• Mentor and guide other team members.
