We are a boutique patent law firm specializing in helping innovative companies protect and leverage their intellectual property. Our clients range from early-stage startups to established tech and life science companies. With a strong focus on quality, responsiveness, and strategic insight, we help clients turn their innovations into valuable business assets.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a driven and strategic Business Development Director on a commission-based contract to lead client acquisition efforts and accelerate growth. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional with a background in intellectual property (IP) sales and an established network in the innovation, technology, or IP sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and generate new client engagements for patent prosecution, strategy, and patent portfolio management services
  • Develop and execute outreach campaigns tailored to startups, venture firms, in-house counsel, and innovation-driven companies
  • Represent the firm in virtual or in-person industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
  • Collaborate with firm attorneys to prepare and deliver customized proposals and presentations
  • Maintain tracking of outreach activities, prospects, and pipeline updates

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in intellectual property services.
  • Strong network within innovation, legal, or startup ecosystems
  • Familiar with the following technologies: artificial intelligence, Saas, IoT, and Semiconductors (Preferred).
  • Ability to work independently, meet goals, and adapt in a fast-paced, remote environment
  • Understanding of the patent process is strongly preferred

Compensation:

This is a commission-based role. Compensation is based on a percentage of the revenue generated from new client engagements secured by the Business Development Director, details of which will be discussed during the interview process.
