Overview

Armor is seeking top business development talent to join our innovative and growing business development team. As a key member of our business development team, you will work closely with senior leadership team in the development and implementation of marketing strategies and meeting our aggressive growth goals for 2025 and beyond. This exciting opportunity provides exceptional career growth and development opportunities, as well as a lucrative compensation structure, to include an impressive base salary and significant commission plan, based on average revenue contracts ranging from $2.5-$20 million dollars in annual revenue. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the development and preparation of proposals for new business, as well as contract renewals for existing business.

This is a remote opportunity that includes extensive travel within the assigned territory. Ideally, the Director of Business Development will live in an area with easy access to regional travel hubs/airports.

Preferred remote hub locations are not limited to, but include:

Alabama, Texas, Illinois/Wisconsin, Missouri, Kansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida and Indiana.

Responsibilities

Skills our winning candidate will possess:

  • “Hunter” sales mentality
  • Experience selling into complex matrixed organizations (preferably government)
  • Experienced strategic selling background in a medium to long sales cycle sale (Law Enforcement or Corrections a plus)
  • Strong relationship builder and ability to relate to the front line or the C-Suite
  • Tech Savvy.
  • Experience managing the sales process and cycle thru a CRM (Salesforce a plus)
  • Regional Territory Management
  • Excellent Client Relations Management
  • Rolodex of Corrections contacts/relationships an advantage

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related field is preferred, and or requisite experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of strategic business development work experience.
  • Ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of solution-based selling experience, preferably within the correctional marketplace.
  • Proven track record of initiating and successfully driving new business partnerships.
  • Ability to develop and manage pipeline of opportunities and convert prospects to clients. Success in utilizing a strategic consultative selling approach to driving new business.
  • Consistent track record of meeting and exceeding revenue goals.
  • Ability to qualify accounts and move them into the sales pipeline as true prospects while focusing on the opportunities that have the most strategic and financial impact for the company.
  • Demonstrated strategic and analytical sales approach with focus on building trust and meaningful relationships with senior level clients.
  • Success in building alliances and influencing key decision makers (at all levels) within the client organization and developing trust-based relationships with key internal constituents and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams during the sales process in order to create compelling solutions for prospective clients
  • Demonstrated thought leadership in solving strategic and operational business problems.
  • Working knowledge of a CRM is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, and use of the Microsoft suite of products.
  • Possess a genuine desire and ability to discover the changing needs of clients and respond accordingly with solutions that target those needs.
  • Successfully building alliances and influencing key decisions makers (of all levels).
  • Strategic sales planning and methodologies.
  • Competitive drive and determination with focus on results orientation.
  • Researchingand obtaining market awareness of industry and client.
  • Financial and technical acumen in understanding needs and developing proposals.
  • Excellent organizational skills.


Position requires flexibility to travel 70-75%, including overnight.
