Job summary

CesiumAstro in El Segundo, CA seeks a Director of Applications Engineering to lead a customer‑facing technical organization, ensuring customers understand, integrate, operate, and deploy products.

The role owns the Voice of the Customer within the product organization, translating needs into actionable requirements, roadmap priorities, documentation, tools, and improvements across the lifecycle from evaluation to on-orbit support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field with 11–15 years of experience.
• 5+ years of leadership or management experience in related teams.
• Experience directing customer integration and deployment of complex hardware/software.

Responsibilities

• Lead Applications Engineering and develop a high-performing customer-facing team.
• Own the technical product/customer interface for integration and deployment.
• Drive successful product adoption with guidance, docs, tools, and training.
• Capture Voice of the Customer and translate to product requirements.
• Influence product strategy and roadmap based on customer needs.
• Develop deep product expertise through close engagement with teams.
• Support pursuits, solution development, and customer demonstrations.
• Lead customer integration and rapid troubleshooting.
• Drive product documentation and enablement content.
• Create scalable reference architectures and reusable solutions.
• Close loop with Engineering to feed back customer priorities.
