Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an experienced Alternative Delivery Director within the Transportation Business Group to lead high-profile design-build and P3 projects.

You will drive approvals, negotiate terms, and coordinate with HDR’s matrix of staff, policy, and clients to deliver complex infrastructure programs. Ideal candidates have 15+ years in engineering leadership on major transportation projects, with PE licensure and a solid track record in client management and contract negotiations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
• 15+ years of professional engineering experience on large transportation projects.
• Experience leading diverse teams and managing client relationships.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of time.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Project Delivery Program Director and lead Alternate Delivery projects.
• Drive approvals in line with HDR policies and risk reviews.
• Coordinate with HDR Business Groups, staff resources, and contracts terms.
• Negotiate terms with legal to finalize contracts for AD projects.
• Engage with transportation leadership and regional leads on upcoming projects.
• Foster HDR matrix collaboration across areas, regions, markets and classes.
• Advise leadership on market trends in Alternative Delivery.
• Work with Area Managers to secure teaming agreements and subcontracts.
• Represent HDR in industry associations to boost visibility.
• Provide routine status updates on AD program delivery.
• May serve as Principal-in-Charge for selected projects.
