Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) seeks a Director to lead Individuals and Corporations NY operations, overseeing planning, design, construction, and inspection of projects on Metro-North properties to safeguard safety and regulatory compliance.

You will guide senior engineers and inspectors, manage budgets, and coordinate with agencies to drive major Grand Central Terminal initiatives and related capital programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• At least 10 years in construction and engineering management.
• At least 7 years managing professional staff.
• New York State Professional Engineer or Registered Architect license required.
• New York State Code Enforcement Official certification or ability to obtain within six months.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, design, construction and inspection of projects on or adjacent to Metro-North Railroad property, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Lead engineers, site managers, and inspectors and coordinate with outside entities.
• Manage budgets, permits, and documentation; act as liaison with Legal, Risk Management and Real Estate.
• Ensure compliance with New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and related regulations.
