Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) seeks a Senior Director, Facility Management (Bridges and Tunnel Maintenance & Operations) in New York, based at Randall's Island. The role provides executive leadership to TBTA and CBDTP, overseeing maintenance, asset management, fleet, ITS, safety, and emergency response with a focus on reliability and safety of crucial infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Transportation, Systems, Technology, Project Management, Facility Management, Fleet Management or related field preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in facility management, transportation operations, infrastructure, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years in management or supervisory role in a large organization.
• Demonstrated ability to lead in a high-profile, high-pressure environment.
• Experience managing a unionized workforce or contractors is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership overseeing maintenance, operation, and strategic initiatives across TBTA and CBDTP.
• Coordinate staffing, workforce planning, and performance management to ensure service reliability.
• Monitor operational performance indicators and drive improvements in safety and efficiency.
• Lead capital project coordination and alignment with agency priorities and safety standards.
• Coordinate with internal divisions and external partners to support emergency response and incident management.
• Oversee fleet and asset management, procurement strategies, and lifecycle planning for transportation infrastructure.
