Job summary

Cusick Company is seeking a Director of Community Management to provide strategic and operational leadership for a portfolio of HOA/COA communities in the Charlotte area. The role focuses on managing Community Association Managers, ensuring service excellence, governance, and strong relationships with boards, residents, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5+ years in HOA/COA or property management, a relevant bachelor's degree (or CAM/CMCA certifications), and proven leadership

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years in HOA/COA or property management
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Strong governance, operations and board relations knowledge
• Proven leadership and performance management experience
• Strong financial acumen including budgeting, reserves and reporting
• Excellent communication, relationship management and leadership skills
• Highly organized with strategic and operational thinking
• Ability to manage multiple communities and priorities

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage Community Association Managers and support staff
• Oversee daily operations across assigned HOA/COA communities
• Ensure consistent service delivery, operational standards, and compliance
• Serve as senior escalation point for boards, communities, and internal teams
• Support CAMs in board relations, governance, and meeting management
• Drive client satisfaction, retention, and long-term relationships
• Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and fiscal accountability
• Support budget preparation, reserve planning, and financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with governing documents, state statutes, and regulations
• Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning and growth initiatives
• Support onboarding and transition of new communities
• Identify operational efficiencies and process improvements
• Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service performance
• Maintain high standards of professionalism, service, and accountability
