Job summary

Bausch + Lomb is seeking a Director for the R&D Global Portfolio and Project Management (GPPM) team to lead and develop a team of R&D project managers. This role oversees a portfolio of New Product Development projects within a designated business vertical and ensures governance, strategy alignment, and cross-functional collaboration across R&D and Commercial units.

The Director will mentor staff, participate in the Project Management Leadership Team, and drive strategic initiatives, budget

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Science or Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of Medical Device/Pharma industry experience and 10+ years in R&D Project Management and Leadership.
• PMP certification a plus; Agile methodologies preferred for software projects.
• Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of R&D project managers and coordinators.
• Oversee a portfolio of NPD projects within a designated business vertical (Vision Care, Surgical, or Pharmaceuticals/Consumer).
• Facilitate the NPD governance board and contribute to cross-business unit initiatives.
• Ensure projects align with global strategy, budgets, timelines, risks, and communication plans.
• Mentor GPPM staff and lead strategic initiatives across R&D.
