Job summary

Blue Shield of California seeks a strategic IT leader to oversee engineering delivery, platform operations, and technology services. You will drive modernization, reliability, and cross-functional collaboration with product and security teams to support high-priority business objectives.

You will guide senior engineering managers, ensure scalable architectures, and promote continuous improvement across complex platforms and production systems.

Qualifications

• 10 years of software engineering, technology operations, or related tech roles.
• 6 years in people management supervising engineers and managers.
• Proven track record owning production systems end-to-end and improving reliability.
• Experience stabilizing legacy systems in high-pressure environments.
• Strong skills in cloud-native design, CI/CD, observability, and secure development.
• Ability to lead cross-functional execution with Product, Architecture, Security, and Business teams.

Responsibilities
