Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Director, Project Management to lead the Design Operations team within EPS.xd. You will craft strategy, guide a high-priority portfolio, and partner with executives to drive outcomes that align with the company’s bottom line.

You will supervise design program managers, operations professionals, designers, and resources, ensuring adherence to design standards and scalable processes, while leveraging AI to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience.
• At least 8 years of project management experience.
• At least 3 years of people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Business & People Leadership: develop operational strategy for a large design organization; advise and influence peers and leaders; manage cross-functional teams.
• Standards & Practice Management: oversee design standards and processes; lead on human-centered strategy, research, and change management.
• Portfolio & Program Management: scale impact with design leadership; allocate resources and prioritize; manage design portfolio and measure impact.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and cross-functional partners to improve products and experiences; advocate for the design process across the business.
• Drive and synchronize with executive leaders to operationalize strategies and ensure alignment with company goals.
• Partner with enterprise teams to build human-centered operational programs (HCD, SDLC, Global Learning & Development).
