Job summary

ADAPT Community Network in New York is seeking a Director of Day Program Services to support the Brooklyn Day Program and Queens Without Walls Day Program. This role provides direction, guidance, and oversight across multiple sites, ensuring high-quality, person-centered services aligned with mission and regulatory standards.

The incumbent will supervise staff, manage budgets, develop policies, and drive continuous improvement while upholding dignity and safety for all individuals served.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field.
• Seven years of progressively responsible managerial experience, preferably with the developmentally disabled population.
• Valid New York State Driver’s License in good standing.
• Strong knowledge of OPWDD regulations, service delivery models, and person-centered planning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to all Day Services sites, ensuring programs operate efficiently and in full compliance with OPWDD and other regulatory requirements.
• Supervise and support site-level Directors and Managers, conducting regular supervisory meetings to discuss performance, program operations, and development needs.
• Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and, when necessary, discipline or terminate staff in accordance with agency policies and best practices.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement across all programs.
• Oversee implementation and evaluation of person-centered plans to ensure that all individuals receive meaningful and effective supports.
