Job summary

Heartshare Human Services Of New York in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an Assistant Program Director of Day Services to oversee the Day Hab program, provide on-site leadership with the Program Director, and ensure high-quality, inclusive programming.

You will supervise staff, coordinate training, manage facility operations and vehicle safety, ensure OPWDD compliance, and support incident responses and QA activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health, Human Services, Special Education, or related field required.
• Two (2) years of managerial/supervisory experience required.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Highly energetic, focused and accountable.
• Ability to work well with all levels of staff.
• Extensive knowledge of OPWDD Programs required.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site leadership of the Day Services Program with the Program Director.
• Ensure quality programming meeting physical, social, developmental, and inclusion needs.
• Oversee facility safety, cleanliness, and vehicle inspections.
• Ensure staffing and scheduling meets program needs.
• Support QA and regulatory compliance with OPWDD requirements.
• Assist with incident follow-ups and audit responses.
