Job summary

ADAPT Community Network is seeking an Assistant Director of Program Services in New York to lead daily program operations, supervise staff, and ensure person-centered services that promote independence, dignity, and inclusion.

The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, data-driven program improvements, and collaboration with families and external partners to expand services while maintaining a safe, supportive environment for individuals and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related discipline is required.
• Progressive supervisory/management experience in developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers and standard software applications.
• Ability to collaborate with staff, individuals served, families, and external partners.
• Maintenance of confidentiality is essential.
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment and devices used by individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, train, supervise, evaluate, and support program and clinical staff.
• Design, coordinate, and implement program goals aligned with mission and regulations.
• Develop, monitor, and evaluate treatment and service plans for high-quality care.
• Ensure adherence to OPWDD, state, and federal regulations and QA processes.
• Collect program data for funding, compliance, and reporting; prepare evaluations.
• Assist with departmental budgets and financial reports.
• Coordinate trainings and develop curricula for staff needs.
• Assign caseloads and oversee attendance to meet capacity.
• Manage intake and discharge, coordinating services.
• Oversee incident investigations and safety training.
• Support long-range plans and expansion initiatives.
• Participate in agency committees and collaborate with families and partners.
• Uphold the rights of individuals in all programs.
