Job summary

QTS Data Centers seeks a Director of Development (Data Center Construction) to lead multi-facility deployment projects, liaise with sales, operations and development teams, and ensure customer requirements are executed to the highest standards.

The role requires a strong background in data center design, engineering, controls and construction management, with the ability to self-direct and manage complex programs across locations. Domestic travel is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and/or professional licenses in Construction Management or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Architecture
• Ten or more years of progressive responsibility in development of Mission Critical Facilities
• Five or more years of responsibility of data center project construction with large-scale data centers or DC lease providers
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed for the business

Responsibilities

• Manage the customer deployment project delivery for each sold deal within each QTS location
• Coordinate with the QTS Property Development team and supporting specialty consultants to support design, pricing, approvals and implementation of deployment scopes
• Align clients’ objectives, business processes, vendor management strategies, and cross-group collaboration across the QTS organization
• Drive effective client relationship management and cost management to deliver projects on time and on budget
• Serve as a single contact for Federal sales support on potential secured deals
