Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Director of Computer Vision to define the research agenda and lead an enterprise-scale CV platform across global teams. You will shape the architecture, drive AI infrastructure, and ensure scalable delivery of next-generation visual intelligence solutions aligned with product strategy.

The role emphasizes foundational research, organizational leadership, and end-to-end MLOps with a strong focus on performance metrics and risk management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of technical leadership experience leading computer vision teams and organizations in production environments.
• Deep expertise in computer vision, ML algorithms, and end-to-end MLOps lifecycle; 5+ years building/optimizing CV models or researching in CV.
• Executive technical strategy: define long-term vision, roadmaps, and metrics for a large-scale platform.
• People leadership: manage 50-100 distributed engineers/researchers across geographies.
• Strong analytical and research skills with AI performance metrics, real-time video processing, and inference optimization.
• Customer-driven leadership: translate ambiguous product concepts into executable technical roadmap.
• Startup mentalidad: ownership, bias for action, operating with ambiguity.
• Domain knowledge in public safety or security-focused software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical vision and architecture for the Computer Vision Platform.
• Lead and scale a multi-geography research and engineering org. Develop recruiting and mentorship strategies.
• Own end-to-end MLOps lifecycle for central CV models and AI infrastructure across edge and cloud.
• Establish and monitor technical performance metrics (latency, throughput, reliability).
• Evaluate cutting-edge CV research and manage build-vs-buy decisions.
• Translate customer needs into clear roadmaps and architectural specs.
