Job summary

Centene Corporation seeks a seasoned Director of Community Relations to lead field-based outreach and partnerships across assigned territories. You will oversee a team, align activities with health plan priorities, and drive engagement with providers and community organizations to grow membership and improve access to resources.

You will coach staff, analyze outreach data, and adapt strategies to local needs while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in public relations, marketing, health administration, public health, social services, business, communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of community relations, outreach, marketing, sales, public health, provider engagement, or managed care experience. Previous managed care experience preferred, especially Medicaid, Medicare, Child Health Plus, Essential Plan, or other government-sponsored programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage Community Relations staff with performance management, coaching, scheduling, development, and field execution.
• Develop and execute community engagement strategies with community-based organizations, providers, faith-based groups, schools, and leaders.
• Build and deepen partnerships to support community trust, visibility, education, growth, and retention.
• Oversee outreach activities, events, presentations, sponsorship activations, and local initiatives across territories.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Provider Relations, Quality, Retention and other teams to align activities with business priorities.
• Monitor community needs, market trends, and local opportunities to inform strategy and planning.
