Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of Automation and Control Systems to steer the Automation & Controls group, partnering with engineering to drive continuous innovation and manufacturing optimization. You will influence capital planning and ensure alignment with strategic initiatives while delivering strong production support.

The role requires broad leadership across multiple locations, deep knowledge of controls systems, and a history of delivering improvements.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
10+ years in manufacturing.
Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
Proven ability to lead teams.
Strong relationship-building with partners.
Knowledge of CAD, HMI, PLCs, G-Suite, and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

Effectively manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
Contribute to manufacturing facilities 3 & 5 year capital plans.
Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Eng, and R&D to integrate Automation and Controls.
Manage financials: capital projects, budgets, and reporting for the team.
Oversee engineering practices and mitigate obsolescence in controls systems.
Provide leadership and promote a collaborative, customer-focused culture.
