Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of Automation and Controls to oversee the Automation & Controls team and collaborate with engineering to drive continuous innovation and manufacturing optimization. The role provides strategic input to capital planning and ensures alignment with corporate initiatives while delivering ongoing support to production facilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple manufacturing locations.
Proven experience leading a team indirectly or directly.
Proven relationship building and development of strong partnerships.
Working knowledge of: Computer aided drawing; Human machine interface development; Programmable logic controllers; G-Suite; Advanced diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

Oversee all functions of Automation & Controls group.
Contribute to 3 & 5 year capital plans.
Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering, GAF Business Systems, R&D to integrate Automation & Controls across the organization.
Manage capitalized projects, budget development, and financial reporting.
Ensure documentation for controls systems is up to date.
Promote safety and continuous education within the team.
