Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of Automation and Controls to lead the Automation & Controls team, partnering with engineering to drive continuous improvement and align with capital plans.

You will oversee budgeting, project deployment, and cross-functional integration with IT, R&D, and operations, while promoting safety and high standards for controls systems across multiple manufacturing sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
• Proven experience leading a team indirectly or directly.
• Proven relationship building and development of strong partnerships.
• Working knowledge of CAD, HMI, PLCs, G-Suite and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
• Contribute to 3 & 5 year capital plans for facilities.
• Coordinate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Eng, and R&D.
• Oversee financials: capital projects, budgets, reporting.
• Guide project implementation from development to deployment.
• Promote safety and continuous education across the team.
• Maintain documentation for controls systems and standards.
