Job summary

Cal Poly Athletics seeks a Director of Development for Athletics to cultivate and solicit major gifts from alumni, foundations and corporate partners. The incumbent will identify, qualify, cultivate and solicit gifts while aligning with University Development policies and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of four years of progressively responsible professional experience in development, major gifts fundraising, donor relations, marketing or related field.
• Experience with major gifts fundraising ($25,000+) and principal gifts ($1M+) is preferred.
• Ability to develop written major gift proposals and manage donor relations with high discretion.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate and solicit major and principal gifts from donors, foundations, and corporations.
• Develop and implement donor solicitation campaigns and determine gift levels and involvement.
• Collaborate with University Development & Alumni Engagement and other partners on annual development plans and fundraising campaigns.
• Prepare gift agreements, oversee gift processing and acknowledgement procedures; ensure compliance.
