Job summary

Cal Poly Athletics is seeking a Director of Development for Athletics to cultivate and solicit donors including former student athletes, alumni and foundations. The role focuses on major and principal gifts, with a responsibility to prepare proposals and coordinate with university development teams.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least four years of professional development experience, including two years in fundraising.

Qualifications

• Develop and manage a portfolio of prospective annual and major gift prospects/donors, maintaining confidentiality.
• Devise strategies for solicitation of major gifts ($25,000+) and principal gifts ($1M+).
• Prepare written proposals for presentation to donors and secure gift closures.
• Collaborate with University Development & Alumni Engagement on campaigns for solicitations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a personal portfolio of prospective annual and major gift prospects/donors.
• Develop strategies and campaigns for soliciting major and principal gifts.
• Execute annual development plan and meet personal/college metrics.
• Prepare gift agreements and ensure proper gift processing and acknowledgement.
• Collaborate with university partners on fundraising campaigns.
