Job summary

Grand St. Settlement seeks a Senior Program Director to lead COMPASS after-school, holiday, and summer programs in coordination with DYCD requirements and school leadership.

You will supervise staff, manage enrollment and attendance, and oversee budgets and program quality to deliver high-impact services for youth. You will collaborate with families, schools, and community partners to expand learning opportunities, monitor outcomes, and ensure compliance with DOH/DOE requirements while driving

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a school-based or community-based after-school program, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.
• Experience overseeing multiple programs, budgets, and staff.
• Demonstrated success collaborating with school leadership, families, and community stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the New York City public education system, positive youth development principles, and New York State Learning Standards.
• Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating lesson plans, curriculum, and structured youth programming in school settings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of COMPASS programs (after-school, holiday, summer).
• Ensure programs meet DYCD, DOH, DOE and Grand St. Settlement standards.
• Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and accountability to site management teams.
• Coordinate part-time staff schedules; recruit, supervise, coach, and evaluate staff.
• Attend required trainings and monitor trainings/certifications for staff.
• Maintain liaison with school, families, and community partners.
