Job summary

Good Shepherd Services is seeking a Program Director for the COMPASS afterschool program at MS129 Academy in the Bronx. You will lead development, implementation, and supervision of the program, coordinating with school staff and overseeing staff scheduling and training.

The role requires strong leadership, crisis intervention, and connection with families, with responsibilities including enrollment coordination, activity planning, reporting, and compliance with DOH/OCFS/DYCD standards.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Child Development or NYS credential required or in progress.
• Experience in youth development and supervision is required.
• Ability to engage in crisis intervention and lead activities.
• Willingness to participate in weekend trainings.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision for the COMPASS afterschool program.
• Oversee staff scheduling and performance evaluations.
• Develop and facilitate weekly staff meetings and trainings.
• Coordinate enrollment, registration, and family communication.
• Ensure program activities are engaging and age-appropriate.
• Monitor safety, cleanliness, and program budget compliance.
