Job summary

AHRC Nassau is seeking a Direct Support Professional Supervisor in New York to train and supervise Direct Support Professionals, arrange staff schedules, and ensure residents receive comprehensive assistance in daily activities, health, and well-being.

The role requires AMAP certification, a NYS driver’s license, and at least 1 year of experience with the developmentally disabled, along with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• AMAP certification required.
• 1 year of experience working with the developmentally disabled.
• Valid NYS Driver's License required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervision and training of Direct Support Professionals to ensure high-quality support.
• Assist with staff training to ensure adequate staffing.
• Maintain weekly staff schedules based on resident needs.
• Maintain records of staff time, attendance, and performance.
• Verify treatment plan documentation and daily updates.
• Assist with resident bank accounts and expenditures as needed.
• Coordinate transportation for medical appointments.
• Collaborate with RN, physicians, and pharmacies on resident health needs.
• Oversee housekeeping and safe living environments.
• Perform DSP duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
