Job summary

AHRC Nassau in Oceanside, NY is seeking a Direct Support Professional Supervisor to assist the Manager in ensuring high-quality, person-centered supports for individuals with developmental disabilities. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Valid NYS Driver's License maintained throughout employment.
• One (1) year experience working with the developmentally disabled.
• AMAP certified required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills as well as good organizational and administrative skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assists Manager with supervision and training of Direct Support Professionals to support individuals in daily living activities.
• Assists with training of new employees to ensure adequate staffing.
• Maintains weekly staff schedules based on resident needs and availability.
• Records staff time, attendance, performance and training needs to support supervision.
• Verifies treatment plan documentation is current on a daily basis.
• Assists with managing residents' bank accounts and reviewing monthly statements.
• Arranges transportation for medical appointments and coordinates with agency vehicles.
• Confers with site RN, physicians and pharmacies regarding residents' health needs.
• Collaborates with day program services to ensure coordinated care and communication.
• Oversees housekeeping and upkeep to maintain a sanitary and safe living environment.
• Performs Direct Support Professional duties as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
