Job summary

AHRC Nassau is seeking a dedicated individual to supervise Direct Support Professionals and ensure high-quality support for residents in a Safe, active-living environment. This role involves training staff, coordinating schedules, and maintaining meticulous records of care plans and staff performance.

The candidate should hold an AMAP certification, a valid New York driver’s license, and at least one year of experience with the developmentally disabled.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• AMAP certification required.
• Valid NYS Driver's License throughout employment.
• One year of experience working with the developmentally disabled.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train Direct Support Professionals to provide ongoing supported living.
• Assist with training of new employees to ensure adequate staffing.
• Maintain weekly staff schedules based on resident needs.
• Maintain records of staff time, attendance, performance, and training needs.
• Ensure daily completion of treatment plan documentation.
• Assist with residents' banking and budget adherence.
• Arrange transportation for medical appointments and coordinate with agency vehicles.
• Consult with site RN, physicians and pharmacies on residents’ health needs.
• Coordinate with day programs to ensure service alignment.
• Oversee housekeeping and upkeep to provide a sanitary, safe environment.
• Perform the duties of a Direct Support Professional as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
