Job summary

Bridgewell in Massachusetts is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist people with developmental, physical and psychiatric disabilities in residential and community settings. You will provide daily living supports, supervision, and skills training while adhering to regulatory standards and Bridgewell policies.

Responsibilities include documentation, medication administration per MAP, and community transportation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 5+ years of verified experience.
• At least 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft products and web-based applications.
• Valid US driver's license with at least 1 year of driving experience; ability to drive a large van.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and assist people with skills training in activities of daily living.
• Create opportunities to develop independence.
• Provide services according to DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF and Bridgewell policies.
• Administer medications per MAP regulations as applicable.
• Transport and accompany people to activities outside the program.
• Maintain daily progress notes and shift documentation.
• Complete household cleaning duties as assigned.
• Conduct steady care calls during awake overnight shifts.
• Develop positive relationships with guardians and stakeholders.
• Attend program staff meetings and supervision meetings.
