Job summary

Integrated Life Choices (ILC) seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving meaningful, independent lives across home, work, and community settings. DSPs provide person-centered supports, document accurately, and work independently while ensuring safety, dignity, and rights are respected.

A valid driver’s license and auto insurance are required, as is background screening.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion and passing of background checks including Nebraska Child/Adult Protective Services Central Registry and Criminal background check.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in understanding and exercising their rights.
• Provide person-centered supports to promote independence and daily living.
• Maintain engagement with each individual during shifts and in the community.

As a DSP, you will be responsible for maintaining consistent engagement with the people you are supporting, whether they are at home or out in the community. You will be required to work independently, create safe environments, and provide accurate documentation for the support provided during every shift. Some physical work examples could be but are not limited to:Intervening in aggressive situation and/or physically demanding responsibilitiesSupport with lifting individuals to and from wheelchairsSupporting a person to and from a showerUsing a gait belt in a safe and dignified wayProviding transportation for the people we support is an essential function of the DSP position.
