Job summary

Integrated Life Choices is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings. DSPs promote independence, provide daily living supports, and ensure safety during shifts.

You will document services, help with transportation, and support participation in activities of daily living and groups. A valid driver’s license and background checks are required, and ESOP/benefits are offered to eligible

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Background checks required (Nebraska Child/Adult Protective Services Central Registry).
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily living and community activities.
• Maintain consistent engagement with people served and document support provided each shift.
• Encourage independence, self-advocacy, and participation in groups and recreational activities.
• Provide transportation support and ensure safe, dignified personal care as needed.

As a DSP, you will be responsible for maintaining consistent engagement with the people you are supporting, whether they are at home or out in the community. You will be required to work independently, create safe environments, and provide accurate documentation for the support provided during every shift. Some physical work examples could be but are not limited to:Intervening in aggressive situation and/or physically demanding responsibilitiesSupport with lifting individuals to and from wheelchairsSupporting a person to and from a showerUsing a gait belt in a safe and dignified wayProviding transportation for the people we support is an essential function of the DSP position.
