Job summary

Integrated Life Choices in Nebraska is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving independence and meaningful community involvement. You will work in home and community settings, providing respectful, person-centered supports and documenting daily activities.

The role requires independence, patience, and the ability to encourage self-advocacy, transportation, and participation in groups.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Background checks required: Nebraska Child/Adult Protective Services Central Registry check and criminal background check.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Support rights and self-advocacy for individuals.
• Provide person-centered supports to meet daily needs and preferences.
• Maintain documentation of support provided at end of each shift.
• Provide transportation for individuals to activities and appointments.
• Assist with personal hygiene and medication administration as needed.
• Encourage participation in groups and community activities to enhance social connections.

As a DSP, you will be responsible for maintaining consistent engagement with the people you are supporting, whether they are at home or out in the community. You will be required to work independently, create safe environments, and provide accurate documentation for the support provided during every shift.
