Oak Hill in Shelton, CT is hiring a Direct Support Professional to help individuals live healthy, meaningful lives. You’ll assist with daily living, health monitoring, transportation, and community participation, working 40 hours weekly on a Tue–Sat 7am–3pm schedule.

Compensation starts at $20.39/hour with differential pay for certain shifts. The role is non-exempt and eligible for overtime, with paid training, DDS medication certification within 90 days, and a comprehensive benefits package

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver\'s license with ability to transport individuals in agency vehicles.
• Ability to complete required background checks, fingerprinting, and pre-employment health screenings.
• Ability to complete required training programs and maintain certifications.
• Commitment to a safe, healthy, and professional work environment per Oak Hill policies.
• Commitment to continuity of care, including occasional shift extensions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities including grooming, hygiene, and mobility.
• Monitor health and document information; administer medications per directives.
• Transport individuals to appointments and community activities.
• Prepare meals and support mealtime as needed.
• Document daily activities and health information in the EHR; ensure compliance.
• Respond to emergencies using established procedures and provide First Aid/CPR when required.
• Collaborate with team and participate in trainings and meetings.
