Job summary

CRi - Community Residences, Inc. in Northern Virginia is seeking a Direct Support Professional II (DSP II) to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives in their communities.

As a DSP II, you will mentor staff, implement personalized care plans, document progress, and advocate for clients at appointments and in the community. Strong communication, reliability, and compassion are essential to support CRi’s mission and values.

Qualifications

• 3 years of hands-on experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Understanding of the unique needs and challenges associated with supporting individuals with IDD.
• Familiarity with the Person-Centered Planning process.
• Basic computer skills for documentation, communication and training purposes.
• Ability to cook and manage household tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor staff during shifts.
• Provide direct support based on personalized care plans.
• Communicate with families, guardians, and health professionals.
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation and progress tracking.
• Advocate for individuals at appointments and in the community.
• Model professionalism and uphold CRi’s core values.
