Job summary

HopeTree Family Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide compassionate support to individuals with IDD in Virginia. The role emphasizes teamwork, adaptability to changing schedules, and creative problem-solving to plan daily activities with the manager.

The DSP will assist with activities of daily living, promote holistic growth, and ensure safety across homes and community settings.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Experience or training in mental health, special education, behavior support, or human services preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day organization and activities that promote a positive environment for individuals served, using person-centered approaches.
• Maintain program locations to be clean, safe, and well-kept; report maintenance needs promptly.
• Assist with medication administration and documentation; monitor medical conditions as directed.
• Complete required documentation: progress notes, quarterly reviews, and support records.
• Support individuals with activities of daily living and personal independence.
