Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Direct Support Professional II at the Mexia State Supported Living Center. This role includes morning, evening, and night shifts across multiple homes, with potential extra pay for evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities include habilitation, rehabilitation, and life-skills training, plus documentation and crisis intervention as part of a dedicated care team. Employment emphasizes safety, teamwork, and compassionate support.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in writing reports.
• Experience in behavior programs for persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• Experience in working with mental health/IDD.

Responsibilities

• Attend regular shifts and follow assigned schedule.
• Implement habilitation and rehabilitation, behavior management, crisis intervention, and treatment programs.
• Teach life skills such as feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene.
• Participate in development of the individual’s treatment plan.
• Observe and document health status and respond to changes.
• Provide direct care and support services to individuals.
• Administer first aid and CPR as needed.
• Assist with transporting individuals and emergency response.
