Job summary

Health & Human Services Comm in El Paso State Supported Living Center seeks a Direct Support Professional II to provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will support daily living activities, monitor health, and help with behavior programs to promote wellness and independence.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid Texas driver’s license, and willingness to work mornings, evenings, and nights.

Qualifications

• Required: High School diploma or equivalent or previous employment experience.
• Preferred: 6 months of work experience.
• Experience in writing reports.
• Experience in behavior programs for persons with intellectual developmental disabilities.
• Experience in working with people who have mental health/intellectual developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Attends work regularly and follows assigned shift schedules.
• Implements habilitation and rehabilitation, behavior management, crisis intervention, and treatment programs.
• Teaches life skills such as feeding, dressing, personal hygiene.
• Develops and follows each individual’s treatment plan.
• Observes for signs of illness or medication reactions and documents observations.
