Job summary

YAI is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in Northern Westchester, including Ossining. DSPs work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in homes, day services, and community settings, supporting activities of daily living and personal goals.

Responsibilities include supervising individuals, implementing behavior support plans, and facilitating learning and community engagement. A dynamic, compassionate team environment with various schedules is offered.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to meet essential physical demands including lifting up to 25 pounds and assisting with transfers.
• Willingness to work in various settings with individuals who have I/DD.
• Ability to document services accurately and use basic software systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in maximizing strengths and personal goals; foster positive relationships.
• Support socialization, community connections, and person-centered plans.
• Ensure safety and supervision; follow program guidelines and crisis procedures.
• Provide personal care, ADLs, and appropriate medication administration per guidelines.
• Document observations and maintain accurate data in electronic records.
