Job summary

YAI is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in the Bronx to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across home, community, and center settings.

DSPs provide daily living assistance, communication support, and skills development. The role emphasizes safety, person-centered planning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in a high-energy environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift/move individuals up to 25 pounds and assist with ADLs.
• Willingness to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must hold or obtain SCIP-R within one year of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in maximizing strengths, interests, and abilities while upholding personal rights.
• Provide emotional support and build positive relationships using person-first language.
• Monitor health, safety, and emergencies, following program guidelines and IPCP/BSPs.
